Topic Title: Nvidia drivers and X

So I emerged the Nvidia drivers for my computer and started X ... whereas before the drivers were installed, X started up in a few seconds ... it now takes up to 30 seconds for it to start. I type startx and the screen blanks out for up to 30 seconds before Xwindows is displayed...
