Topic Title: console does not spread over my whole screen

hi,when i use an X application such as KDE on my laptop it is displayed correctly, that means it uses the whole screen.but when i jump into a console mode (e.g. with CTRL ALT F2 ), then my display is reduced to a small box in the middle of my monitor screen.how can i make my gentoo use the whole monitor size in this textual mode?thank you very muchbaf
