hi,i just installed gentoo and everything worked fine.i only have trouble with grub, which is not able to boot my old win xp.i use this settings:hda1: boot, ext3, 100MBhda2: windows, ntfs, 8 GBhda3: swap, 1 GBhda4: linux, ext3, 30 GBthere is no problem with booting linux.to boot win xp, i use the following commands:title=Windows XProot (hd0,1)chainloader 1the error message is: "Filesystem type unkown, partition type 0x7".i also tried rootnoverify instead of root and makeactive, but it didnt work.there is no error message when using rootnoverify (logo!). it just hangs up after chainloader 1.i dont think that the win xp partition is damaged, i was able to read the files.has anyone an idea how to fix this???why is ntfs unknown to grub?thanks for every hint, with kind regards form switzerlandnabla
